This is the 2017 KiteSpeed World Championship

Speed will be measured by GPS. Competitors shall bring their own GPS (GT-31, GW-52 und GW-60).

Courses will be both port and starboard-tack.

The water depth is very shallow - long fins are not advisable.

Wind conditions: 30+ knots, offshore to side-offshore

Water temperature: 30 degree celsius

Air temperature: 35 degree celsius

TRAVEL INFORMATION

All competitors must arrive in Muscat on July 30 latest. Provided transfer to the venue (Massirah Island) on the 31st of July. Provided transfer return to Muscat on July 6 (arrival app. 1600 local time).

Competitors are advised to look for departing flights in the evening / night of the 6th, or stay another night in Muscat.

Competitors will be picked up from the airport (29th/30th) and returned to the airport (6th/7th) according to their flight schedule. All transfers (airport, to Massirah, on Massirah between event hotel and venue) are included in the entry fee.

All hotel arrangements have been made by the organizer:

Per night in Muscat (Al Wanasa Hotel): 35 USD per person in a Twin Room

Per night on Massirah (Serabis Hotel): 26 USD per person in a Twin Room, 22 USD per person in a Triple Room
