World Sailing licenses Formula Kite equipment from 7 hydrofoil and 4 kite manufacturers for Paris 2024

Following the registered series production equipment evaluation period from middle of 2020 until the end of 2021, World Sailing has offered licenses to build Olympic equipment to the manufacturers that have complied with the evaluation criteria.

The following equipment has been licensed (note: some manufacturers chose not to license all of their equipment options):


Hydrofoil Systems:

  • Airush Gold Mast + Glider
  • Chubanga V3 Mast + Glider
  • Flying Sardine Masts 106 and 110, Gliders Flow and Haze
  • KFA Mako 4 Mast + Glider
  • Levitaz Masts R5 V1 and V2, Front Wings R5 and R5s, Rearwing R5 (including Fuselage)
  • SABFoil/Moses Mast M106, Frontwing W670, Rearwing S400, Fuselage FKR604
  • Taaroa Mast Sword 108, Frontwing Sword 68KF, Rearwing Sword 37KF, Fuselage Sword 54KF

Duotone and Enata chose not to take a license from World Sailing.

Aeros/Elf chose not to take a license from World Sailing.

Only licensed equipment is eligible in any Formula Kite competition (regardless of being organized by the Formula Kite class or other organisers) from 01 March 2022 onwards, with the exception of national and youth events in which any equipment on the registered equipment list (see above) may be used.
